Gertrude Newman

Gertrude Genevieve Newman age 96 of Cheboygan passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2024.

She was born in Detroit to John and Nora (Bulger) Gaitley on July 14, 1927.

Gertie was always on the go, there was no holding her back.

She is survived by four children, Mary McLean of Harrison Township, John Ventimiglia of Alpena, Pat (April) Ventimiglia of Clinton Township and Kathy (Russell) Hudak of Cheboygan; a daughter-in-law, Karen Ventimiglia; 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Gertie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nora; a son, Charlie Ventimiglia; a granddaughter, Sierra Hudak; her first husband, John Ventimiglia; second husband, Robert Newman; and a daughter-in-law, Renee Ventimiglia.

Private services will take place at a later date.
