Gilbert J. Martens age 85 of Rogers City
passed away August 18, 2009 at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital

He was born January 1, 1924 in Worden, Montana
to Albert and Louise (Dollander) Martens

He is survived by:
wife, Alfrieda
5 children, Linda (Herb) Summers, Sharon (Roger) Hein, Terry (Cindy) Bellmore,
Randy (Gail) Martens, and Denise (friend, Chris Flewelling) Martens,
all of Rogers City
11 grandchildren,
13 great grandchildren, and
4 great-great grandchildren
1 brother, Charlie (Maybelle) Martens of Montana

He was preceded in death by:
3 brothers and
2 sisters

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, August 20th from 2:00 until
8:00 p.m. where the Rogers City VF W will offer a military service at 6:45 followed
by the prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will resume on Friday at
Peace Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of funcral at 11:00 a.m. with
Pastor Kevin Jones officiating. Rogers City VF W Post 607 will accord full military
honors following the church service.

Burial will take place in Peace Lutheran Cemetery on Thursday, September 17th at
1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or
American Cancer Society in memory of Gil Martens.
