Helen Skierski

Helen Rose Skierski age 98 of Posen passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Medilodge of Alpena with her daughters by her side.

She was born January 28, 1923 in Krakow Township to John and Victoria (Tybik) Wojtowicz.

Helen loved playing pinochle, word search puzzles, planting and harvesting her vegetable garden and enjoying her rose garden. Helen married Stanley Skierski on October 30, 1944 in Posen. She was a life member of St. Casimir Catholic Church.

She is survived by her three daughters, Christine (Larry) Dubey and Marlene Montie of Alpena and Janice (Roger Biel) Cooper of Illinois; three grandchildren, Corey (Stephanie) Montie, Josh (Amanda) Skierski and Gage (Jaimie) Skierski; two great granddaughters, Macy and Mariah Skierski; two sisters, Eleanor Szott and Sophie Andrzejewski; daughter-in-law, Julie Skierski; six step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; son, James “Skeeter”; grandson, Dilon Skierski; seven siblings, Clara Emke, Stella Ignas, Walter, Frank, Ted, Louie and Edward; her and two sons-in-law, Larry Montie and Ted Cooper.

Due to current covid conditions, a memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be scheduled for the summer of 2022.

Interment will take place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.
