1930 - 2015

Hugh Junior Thompson age 84 of Cheboygan y
passed away January 16, 2015 at Tendercare Cheboygan. \ \

He was born July 18, 1930 at home in Mackinaw —
to Lee and Minnie (Manning) Thompson.

Hugh served in the United States Navy and completed 2 world tours
during the Korean War, He met the love of his life, Joyce, in Flint, and
they married a short time later in 1955. Mr. Thompson worked at the
Buick plant for a while then moved north and pursued his career in
carpentry. Hugh enjoyed all things outdoors including snowmobiling,
barbequing, swimming, camping, playing softball, fishing and hunting.
Indoor activities included square dancing, polka dancing, teaching polka
dancing, playing cards for real, and playing the spoons. After his
retirement, Hugh enjoyed making yard decorations and birdhouses. He
made a coffee table for Joyce and other beautiful items for their house
and her sewing room.

Hugh is survived by:
4 children, Randie (Gale) Landric, Roxanne Thompson,
Hugh Thompson Jr., and Terry-Jo (Karl) Ayotte;
9 grandchildren, Ryan Thompson, Billy Beebe, Paul Font, Isaac Johnson,
Ronnie Johnson, Amanda McPeek, Hugh O. Thompson,
Chelsie Lamb and Trent Lamb;
10 great grandchildren;
sister, Leona Rose Brasscaur;
1 brother, Benjamin Thompson;
many nieces and nephews,

He was preceded in death by:
his wife, Joyce Onalee,
son, Ronold,
parents, Lee and Minnie; and
2 brothers, Fredrick and Bill,

Friends may visit at Faith Baptist Church in Cheboygan on Friday,
January 23rd from 10:00 a.m, through time of his memorial service
at 11:00 a.m,
