passed away March 26, 2012 at Alpena Regional Medical Center
She was born January 14, 1922 in Rogers City
to Stanley and Victoria (Buzala) Mulka
On May 3, 1947 she married Eugene H. Heinzel at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
Irene loved baking bread and clowning around with family and friends at the
Nautical City Festival Parade. She was also an avid reader. We will miss secing
Irene walking down town at her youthful gait every day whether rain or shine.
Mrs. Heinzel is survived by:
her 8 children, Jean (Willis) Garratt of Howell, John (Beth) Heinzel of Rogers City,
Mary (Paul) Thomas of England,
Mark (MaryLou) Heinzel of Rogers City,
Anne (Mike) Hughes of Texas,
Paula (Denny Stone) Heinzel of Hubbard Lake,
Patricia (Robert) Erke of Rogers City, and Antonia Heinzel of Alpena;
20 grandchildren;
23 great grandchildren;
siblings, Fr. Ray Mulka of Alpena, Fr. Archie Mulka of Alpena,
Louise (Dom) Mauti of Clarkston, Leopold Mulka of Rogers City, and
Ed (Mae) Mulka of Rogers City.
She was preceded in death by:
her husband, Eugene;
siblings, Blanche Daas, Paul Mulka, Lawrence Mulka, and Cecelia Lewandowski
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m.
with rosary at 6:30 followed by the parish wake service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will
resume on Thursday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of
mass at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Ignatius Catholic School
in memory of Irene Heinzel.
