Jack Schalk
1942 - 2023Jack Schalk age 80 of Belknap passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
John Raymond Schalk was born December 1, 1942 in Rogers City to Raymond and Alice (Brege) Schalk.
He is survived by his wife Marlene; three children, Shelby (Roy) Schwiesow, Susan (Jode) Paull and John (Val) Schalk; four grandchildren, Nathan (Sarah) Schalk, Dalton Paull, Sydney Paull and Aislinn Schalk; two great granddaughters, Marlana Schalk and Aeris Schalk; three siblings, Bill (Rhoda) Schalk, Judy (Jim) Spomer and Jane (Terry) Wirgau; and a brother-in-law, Arlo Bruning.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice; his step mom, Lucille Kalitta-Schalk; a grandson, Derick Schwiesow and a sister, Sharon Bruning.
On September 6, 1967 he married Marlene Susan Kalitta at St. Michael Lutheran Church. Jack loved farming, his tractors, playing cards, especially spitzer and Pinochle, making maple syrup, visiting with his produce and flower customers, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them on the farm.
Friends may visit at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Belknap on Tuesday, April 11th from 12:30 through time of his memorial service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Paul Boerger officiating.
Inurnment will follow at St. Michael Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Michael Lutheran Church in memory of Jack Schalk.
