James Flewelling

James Amos Flewelling age 92 of Bearinger Township passed away peacefully at Medilodge in Rogers City on June 26, 2023.

He was born September 6, 1930 in Rogers City to Frank and Lucinda (Gaffney) Flewelling.

Jim was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moltke Township. He was past president of the Presque Isle Sportsmen’s Club and Black Lake Sportsmen’s Club, past vice president of Sturgeon for Tomorrow and a member of the Onaway VFW Post 5857.

He is survived by three children, Linda (Rocky) DeRoque, Kevin (Amanda) Flewelling and Bruce (Kathy) Flewelling; six grandchildren, Adam (Kim) DeKett, Amber (Mark) Reutter, Nicole Flewelling, Haley Bickhardt, Lylian Bickhardt and Dyllan (Deanne) Bickhardt; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one brother, Frank Flewelling; one sister, Geri Andrzejewski; a brother-in-law, Dale (Peggy) Morrison; many nieces, nephews, loving friends and neighbors.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Friends may visit at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Sunday, July 2^nd from 2:30 through time of his memorial service with Pastor Keith Lemley officiating. Onaway VFW Post 5857 will accord military honors just prior to his memorial service.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
