James McFalda
1920 - 2011James Alfonses McFalda age 91 of Grand Lake
passed away October 12, 2011 at home
He was born September 17, 1920 in Pulawski Township
to Felix and Lucy (Koss) McFalda
On July 4, 1942 he married Theresa Peters at St. Casimir Catholic Church.
Jim served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He
retired from United States Steel – Bradley Fleet in 1982. Mr. McFalda enjoyed
playing spitzer and pinocle, listening to polka music, working in his shop, and
spending time with his children and grandchildren, but most of all, he loved spending
time on Grand Lake with his lady, Theresa.
Jim is survived by:
his wife, Theresa;
8 children, Judy (Ben) McFalda of Rogers City, James McFalda Jr. Of Ossineke,
Patrick (Virginia) McFalda of Clarkston,
Suzan (Jeff Johnson) Krey of Ossineke,
Dan “Buzz” McFalda of Grand Lake,
Jean (Ahdi) Dasuqi of Clarkston, Timothy (Judy) McFalda of Mio, and
Joe (Carol) McFalda of Adair;
21 grandchildren;
24 great grandchildren;
sister, Esther Magdalena of Arizona;
brother, Frank McFalda of Posen,
He was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m.
where the Posen VFW will lead the rosary at 6:30 followed by the prayer service
at 7:00 p.m. with Sr. Rita Epple conducting. Visitation will resume on Saturday at
St. Casimir Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. through time of mass at 10:00 a.m.
with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. Posen VFW will offer full military honors
following mass.
Burial will take place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery
Memorials may be given to the Posen Senior Center in memory of James McFalda.
