James Nowak

James Joseph Nowak age 83 of Rogers City passed away peacefully at home on         July 3, 2020.

He was born November 21, 1936 in Alpena to Louis and Agnes (Filarski) Nowak.

Jim served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1962. On June 22, 1968 he married Carolyn Claus at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Jim retired from Presque Isle Corp in 2002. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing solitaire, listening to polka music, bike riding and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Michelle (Jeff) Brege of Arizona and Sara (Bob) Van Acker of Troy; siblings, Jack (Gail Warren) Nowak of Rogers City, Gary (Joan) Nowak of Rogers City, Charles Nowak of Florida and Mary (John) McLean of Rogers City.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Agnes.

Friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 8th from 9 a.m. through time of his pvt Mass at 10 a.m. with Fr. Rolando Silva officiating.

Military honors and interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan or St. Ignatius Catholic School’s Angel Fund in memory of Jim Nowak.
