Janet Lee Getz, age 66, of Cheboygan, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 18, 1960, in Cheboygan, Michigan, to Robert and Doris (Douglas) Deroshia.
Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Charles Getz; her children, Mallory (Todd Yoder) Getz and Derek (Jackie) Getz; her granddaughter, Stacey Lee Getz; her step-grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley), Andrew (Holly), and Zackary (Elizabeth); her step-great-grandchildren, Lylla and Amelia; and her sisters, Debbie (Steve) Yoder, Patti O’Donnell, Becky (Greg) Yoder, and Pam (Dale) Conroy. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Janet will be remembered for her kindness, strength, love for her family, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her. Her caring spirit and gentle heart touched many lives, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
Friends may visit at the Cheboygan Church of Christ, 208 Palmyra Street, Cheboygan, Michigan, on Saturday, July 18, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her memorial service at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Mike James officiating.
