Janet LeDuc
1941 - 2024Janet Lue (Reno) LeDuc, 82, of Cheboygan, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Janet was born in Cheboygan on October 31, 1941 to Archie and Luella (Knight) Reno.
On November 9, 1963 she married Barry A. LeDuc at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Cheboygan. Janet enjoyed being a homemaker while her children were young. She was a waitress for many restaurants over the years including The Hut and The Indian River Trading Post. She was a hands-on co-owner with her husband, Barry at LeDuc’s Creekside Motel from 1987-2017. The family motel was built and owned by Barry’s parents in 1951 and is now owned by their son. Throughout her life Janet enjoyed spending time with her husband, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved God and she loved her family with a passion. She was a giving, loving, caring woman and will be remembered for her beautiful smile. She was a woman of great faith, and she enjoyed having a bible study in her home. Janet enjoyed bowling, gardening, cross country skiing and just about anything her family asked her to do including making an amazing apple pie for her husband.
Surviving her are her husband, Barry LeDuc; her son, Steve (Cassie) LeDuc; her daughter, Jeanine (Tim) Miller all of Cheboygan; her granddaughter, Josilyn (Justin) Brewer; her grandson, Tim (TJ) Miller; her granddaughter; Carley Johnson; her great grandchildren, Malynia Brewer, Trennon Brewer, Rylen Brewer, Elliana Brewer, Harrison Brewer and Aspen Miller; her sisters, Elaine Avery and Theresa Whitmore; her sisters in law, Lois Kolatski, Karen (Mark) McMillin; and her brother in law, Paul Nimz.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph LeDuc; her parents, Archie Reno and Luella Walters; her brothers, Roger Walters, Archie (Nancy) Reno; her sisters, Lois (Bud) Ormsbee, Reta (Lapeer) Gase, Henrietta (Jim) Crawford; her mother in law, Elsie (LeDuc) Bauers; and her father in law, Arthur LeDuc; her sister in law, Cindy (LeDuc) Nimz; and her brothers in law, Ray Kolatski, Lloyd Avery and Ray Whitmore.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29th at the Restored Church of Christ on Sand Road in Cheboygan beginning at 10 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. with Elder Buddy Ormsbee (Janet’s nephew) officiating.
There will be a luncheon following the service.
