Janice Green

Janice M. Green age 71 of Onaway passed away peacefully in her home on December 5, 2020.

She was born April 3, 1949 in Sault Ste. Marie to Hugh and Ila (Priest) Wingo.

She graduated from Rogers City HS in 1967 and met her beloved husband Dave in 1969. Together, they would raise eight children and create many special memories.

Janice loved books and was a gifted storyteller. She also enjoyed crocheting beautiful afghans for her family and playing bingo. She was a selfless, loving woman – and a very competitive card player. She enjoyed spending time with her family camping, riding motorcycles, watching scary movies, playing games, and (usually) whatever Dave came up with next.

She is survived by her husband David Green of Onaway; children: Elizabeth (Patrick) Mackenroth of Millersburg, Sarah (Jay) Pauley of Reed City, Kimberley Green of Vanderbilt, Cheryl (Mike) Filarski of Irrigon, OR, David J. (Sarah) Green of Glenwood, MN, Pat (Shannon) Green of Alpena, Michele (Allen) House of Perkinston, MS, and Margaret (Jeff) Lawler of Mooresville, NC; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Tolin of Alpena and brother, Scott Reed of Owosso; and countless others whose lives she has touched.

She was preceded in death by her father Hugh Wingo (who went down with the Cedarville), mother Ila Reed, and brothers William Wingo and Hugh Wingo Jr.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 9th from 2:00 p.m. until time of her memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
