Jean Brewster

Jean Marion Brewster age 90 of Cheboygan passed away at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on November 18, 2024.

She was born in Cheboygan to Elmer and Amelia (Brandt) Delamarter on December 19, 1933.

Jean graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1951. On January 19, 1957, she married the love of her life, Edward Brewster at St. Charles Catholic Church. Jean loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed flower gardening, working in her vegetable garden, and playing all types of games. Jean volunteered at the Icebreaker Museum in Mackinaw City, St. Thomas Food Pantry and the Cheboygan Opera House.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Scheele of Cheboygan and Dawn Ewald of St. Paul, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Kevin (Sukie) Ewald, Christopher (Fernanda) Ewald, Jennifer (John) Budzinski and Maria (Adam) Yeager; three great grandchildren, Isaac, Isabel and Hazel Jean; godson, Larry (Cynthia) Woiderski; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; a granddaughter, Amber Scheele; her sister, Margaret (Lloyd) Gouine; and son-in-law, Daniel Ewald.

Friends may visit at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Cheboygan on Saturday, November 23rd from 10 a.m. through time her funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Hueter officiating.

Interment will take place in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Thomas Lutheran Church or Bishop Baraga Catholic School in memory of Jean Brewster.
