Jean Krupa

Jean Elizabeth Krupa age 82 of Ocqueoc quietly and gently passed away in comfort on November 2, 2023 while at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

She was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on December 21, 1940 to Roy and Margaret (Wagner) Mitchell.

Jean graduated from Flint’s Kearsley High School in 1958. On June 20, 1964 she married John Krupa at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Flint. Jean retired as a buyer for General Motors in 1992 after 32 years of service. She and John retired and permanently moved to Ocqueoc Lake in 1995. She was a member of the Zonta Club and enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling to all 50 states and several foreign countries, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Jean played over 100 rounds of golf in one season and scored a hole in one!

Jean is survived by her husband of 59 years, John; two sons, Michael (Laura) Krupa of South Rockwood and Robert (Brenda) Krupa of Gaylord; five grandchildren, Emily (Justin) Schaffer, Jenna Krupa, John Krupa, Sara Krupa and Erika Krupa; a great grandson, Leo Schaffer; a brother, James (Betty Jo) Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gayle; and a brother, Robert.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, November 9^th from 2 p.m. through time of her memorial service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Scott Distler officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Neebish Island Presbyterian Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Rogers City Country Club in memory of Jean Krupa.
