Jeffrey Green
1957 - 2026Jeffrey Frank Green “Green Bean”
05-01-1957-05-17-2026
Born to Kenneth and Phyliss Green in Port Huron Michigan, the youngest of four siblings.
An avid beach-walker, stone gatherer, gardener and comedian he was a person everyone gathered around. He will be celebrated as the one person who will always stick with you.
Jeffrey traveled to Europe in his younger adult life. Then living in Florida, Indiana and Mackinaw Island working in the hospitality industry. Then to the Depot in Mackinaw and Goldies on Carp Lake.
Jeffrey formed friendships at each of these places that he held dear. He also found Nettie and Rob his besties. While on the island, who really became family. It was on Mackinaw Island while working at the French Outpost where he met his partner and BEST friend Jim, whom he spent the last 29 years with. You could say they actually rescued each other. They raised Jenny, their dog. And were known for having the prettiest yard on Carp Lake.
While making a new life with Jim, Jeffrey gained an adopted family that brought new children, mom, dad, sisters, nieces, nephews, an aunt, brothers, and best of all grandchildren (whom Jeffrey absolutely adored). Jeffrey and Jim built a life in Carp Lake where everyone was welcome, and all came to celebrate whatever life gave them. The Carlton Cove was very dear to Jeffrey.
He had a zest for living life and creating memories with the ones he came in contact with. I cannot recall ever seeing a scowl on the man’s face. Jeffrey was kind, loving, and giving soul to all who knew him. Jeffrey formed so many friendships through the years that we cannot begin to list them all.
Jeffrey leaves behind Jim his closest, dearest friend and partner. His sister Linda (Herb) Gilroy, brother Doug Green and Alice Fulator. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he always heartfully spoke of.
He was predeceased by his parents Phyliss and Ken Green, step mother Nancy Green, Rita Green (sister in law), brother Mickey Green, and Jenny “The best dog ever”.
Jeffrey loved all things nature and requested no funeral. He wants those of you who wish to celebrate his life to be kind to one another and do something kind for someone, like pay it forward.
He, his sister Linda, and dear friends Nettie, and Shannon to hold a small get together at Sturgeon Bay in the summer to tell stories and just enjoy the view, as he had done many times at his favorite place there. (date to be determined)
