John Arlt
1920 - 2014John August “Jack” Arlt age 94 of Hawks
passed away December 29, 2014 at home.
He was born December 15, 1920 in Hawks
to John and Martha (Borrousch) Arlt,
Jack served in the United States Army during World War II. He married
Alice Bey in 1948. He served as Constable for Bismarck Township for
46 years, Jack farmed his family’s farm all his life. He also owned and
operated Arlt’s Garage and Jack’s Portable Welding until his retirement
at age 82.
Jack is survived by:
his wife of 66 years, Alice;
6 children, Bev Arlt of Rogers City,
Gene Arlt of Linden,
Linda (Jerry) Smith of Millersburg,
Rita (Gerard Shepke) Arlt of Hawks,
Maria (John) Kay of Phoenix, and
Mary (Vic) Skok of Cooks;
6 grandchildren, John (Amanda Krueger) Arlt, Alicia (Tyler) Small,
William Arlt, Shana Irish, Katelyn DeKeyser, and
Kyle DeKeyser;
1 great grandson, Landon Small.
He was preceded in death by:
1 daughter, Ruth;
8 siblings, Edward, Gertrude, Louise, George, Norman, Frieda, Elsie, and
an infant sister.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 until
8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m, Visitation will resume at
Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. through time of
funeral at 11:00 a.m, with Rev, Dr, Jack Ferguson officiating. Posen
VFW will accord full military honors following church services.
Interment will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Jack Arlt
to Faith Lutheran Church Building/Restoration Fund.
