John Gustafson

Robert John Gustafson Jr. age 86 of Huron Beach passed away on May 20, 2025 following a short stay at Medilodge in Rogers City.

He was born in Grand Rapids on February 7, 1939 to Robert and Dorace (Lillie) Gustafson .

John Graduated from Ottawa High School in 1957, then from Michigan State University with his bachelor’s degree in 1961. On December 2, 1961 he married Elizabeth Ramsay in Grosse Pointe Farms. John served in the National Guard from 1962-1968. He retired in 1996 from the Budd Company in Detroit. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis. John looked forward to spending time with his family when they came north for the past 63 years.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; three children, Eric (Johnna) Gustafson, Christine (Kevin) Myers and Andrea (Sean) Back; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a brother, James Gustafson.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorace, and a brother, Eric.

Private family services will take place at a later date.
