Joyce Pines1928 - 2021
Joyce Marie (Meyer) Pines age 92 of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, formerly of Rogers City passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, July 10, 2021.
She was born August 1, 1928 in Rogers City to Alva and Esther (Joppich) Meyer.
Joyce was a lifelong resident of Rogers City where she graduated from high school in 1946 then married Orval Pines on June 18, 1949 at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Rogers City. Joyce was a real estate sales representative for over 20 years as well as a legal secretary. Joyce was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she had served as deacon, trustee, elder, and assistant treasurer. She served her church as a member of the Women’s Association and Circle II for several years. Some of the many hobbies that she enjoyed included hunting, crafting, reading, and traveling. Her love for family, passion for cooking and baking, inspired her so much that she had a cookbook published in 1994 as well as a second in 2004. During her younger years she was a Girl Scout Leader and served on the 4-H Council.
