June Heller
1929 - 2021On June 20, 1929, June Marie Wenzel was born to Rudolph and Emma Wenzel and shortly afterwards
became a child of God through Holy Baptism. In high school she met her future husband, Robert Heller,
and they were married at St. John Lutheran Church in Rogers City on January 1, 1948.
June kept busy as a receptionist for the local physicians’ office while also spending time teaching sewing
to 4-H children, remodeling their home, being active in church activities, and going to card parties to
play Spitzer with friends. Most of all, she was a fun and loving mom who enjoyed ice skating in the
winter and camping in the summer with the family.
God was a very important cornerstone in her family life and it goes to show… she was blessed with not
only one pastor son, but two in her family. What a joy!! Her daughter became a nurse to care for the
sick and mentor to other healthcare workers.
Robert and June had three children – Delynn (Dennis) Greenman of Holt, MI; Rev. David (Linda) Heller of
Blue Ridge, GA; and Rev. Richard (Doris) Heller of Park Ridge, IL.
She was “Gram”, “Grammy”, and “Grandma June” to eight beautiful grandchildren. They are Jason
(Heather) Greenman; Jill Greenman Steuber; Jeremiah (Laura) Heller; Joshua (Crystal) Heller; Jacob
Heller and Matthew; Jonah Heller and Avi; Dianne (Sam) Moyer; and Brian (Jennette) Heller.
She was GiGi “Great Grandmother” to Brenden, Jenna, Autumn and Hunter (Jason); Nicholas and Alex
(Jill); Rose, Ben, JP, James and Scarlett (Jeremiah); Natalie and Jordan (Joshua); Aiden and Emma
(Dianne); Isaac, Carly and Anna (Brian). She also had three great, great grandchildren who are Mason,
Maya and Carson Greenman (Brenden). Lastly, she was survived by Junie, her puppy!
A Memorial Service will be held for her at Peace Lutheran Church, Rogers City, at 11:00am on Friday,
August 6. A luncheon will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace
Lutheran Church. The Memorial Service will be livestreamed at www.peacelcms.org.
