LaVerne Reed

LaVerne Hammond Reed, age 87 of Rogers City
passed away March 31, 2013 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 12, 1925 in Stalwart, Michigan
to Grover and Myrtle (Hall) Reed.

LaVerne served in the United States Navy during World War II. On April 22, 1946
he married Lucille Doris Manoloff in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Mr. Reed was a
member of St. Luke Episcopal Church in Rogers City and the Disabled American
Veterans.

He is survived by:
his wife, Lucille;
3 children, John (Rhonda) Reed of Rogers City, Susan (Wayne) Richards of Alpena,
and Stephen (Jean Jarrett) Reed of New England;
12 grandchildren; and
10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by:
his son, LaVerne Jr.;
1 brother and
2 sisters.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 22nd at
St. Luke Episcopal Church in Rogers City with Mrs. Peggy Parsons officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Luke Episcopal Church in memory of Laverne Reed.
