Leo Gapczynski

Leo L. Gapezynski age 83 of Rogers City
passed away August 4, 2010 at Northern Michigan Hospital

He was born July 10, 1927 in Rogers City
to Cash and Jenny (Styma) Gapezynski

On June 23, 1947 he married Alice Jozwiak at St. Casimir Catholic Church.
Leo retired from Abitibi after 31 years of service. He served on the Rogers City
City Council for 12 years and was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and
the 3rd Degree Council of the Knights of Columbus. Leo was an avid deer hunter
and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by:
3 children, Gregory (Cathy) of Columbia, SC, Jeffrey (Christine) of Clinton Twp.,
and Ann (Chris) Putnam of Keller, TX;
6 grandchildren, Jason (Selina) Gapezynski, Aaron Gapozynski,
Lacy (Jim) Otteman, Jill Gapezynski, Andrew Putnam, and
Jenny Putnam;
3 great grandchildren, Taylor, Jaymes “J.D.”, and Lauren;
2 brothers, Joseph and Alphonse Gapczynski of Rogers City

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Alice on September 16, 2005.

Friends may visit the Beck Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
and Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 by
the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. Visitation will resume at
St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass at
11:00 a.m. with Fr, Stan Bereda officiating.

Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery

Memorials may be given to St. Ignatius School or Church in memory
of Leo Gapezynski.
