Leona Hilla

Leona Hilla age 92 of Ocala, Florida passed away January 22, 2023 in Belleview, Florida.

Leona was born in Rogers City on August 3, 1930 to John and Anastasia (Berant) Zielinski.

She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bingo, golf, puzzles, and Sudoku.

Leona was a mother of 9 children and is survived by three daughters, Judith Hilla of Belleview, Florida, Marcia (Dave) Smolinski of Posen and Bonnie (Mike) Ruggles of Petoskey; two sons, Thomas (Laura) Hilla of Rogers City and Timothy Hilla of Wyoming; brother, Raymond Zielinski of Rogers City; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sr. in 2010; her parents, John and Anastasia; daughter, Nancy Bushart; three sons, Eugene Hilla Jr, Kenneth Hilla and Steven Hilla; grandson, Jesse Ruggles; brother, Fr. Norman Zielinski, sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Donald Greengtski; and sister-in-law, Joyce Zielinski.

Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Friday, May 26^th from 10 a.m. through time of Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.

Inurnment will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Casimir Catholic Church, American Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.
