Leona Rasche

1916 - 2014

Leona Ida Rasche age 98 of Hawks
passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2014
at Rogers City Tendercare.

Leona was born in Hawks on January 12, 1916, the third of seven children
born to Emma (Putzig) and Herman Fleming.

Leona met her husband Alfred Rasche at what is now the Night Hawk Inn.
They married in 1946, Leona and Alfred had been married for 61 years
when Alfred passed away on August 14, 2007. The Rasche’s lived at
Barnhart Lake for 20 years prior before moving to Hawks. Both Leona and
Alfred were avid square dancers, even participating in square dancing
conventions, They wintered in Texas for about 20 years. Leona and Alfred
were chosen as the Hawks Spring Fling grand marshals in 2003, Leona
enjoyed playing spitzer, bingo and spending time in her gardens. She was
a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hawks; its Ladies Aid and
Rogers City VFW Post 607 Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Rasche is survived by:
2 grandsons, Eugene (Barb) Rasche and Roger Rasche;
4 great grandchildren, Ranger, Karl, Katie, and Kayla;
4 great-great grandchildren, Natalie, Roy, Joalicia and
Keighlee of Tucson, Arizona;
2 brothers, Marvin (Ruth) Fleming and Arnold (Verg) Fleming;
sister-in-law, Irene Fleming;
many nieces and nephews,

She was also preceded in death by:
her parents, Emma and Herman;
1 son, Alvin and his wife Alice;
1 grandson, Ronny;
1 sister, Grace and her husband Wilfred Schleben;
3 brothers, Norman, Leonard, and Wilbert and his wife Nyda.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday, November 14th
from 4:00 p.m, until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30.
Visitation will resume at Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday from
10:00 a.m, through time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with
Rev. Dr. Jack D. Ferguson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Faith Lutheran Cemetery
next to her husband, Alfred.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church
in memory of Leona Rasche.
