Leonard Orban
1928 - 2018Leonard “Lenny” Orban age 90 of Grand Lake
passed away July 14, 2018 at Orchard Manor in Posen.
He was born April 13, 1928 in Rogers Township
to Leo and Celia (Pieczynski) Orban.
Lenny served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On
November 6, 1950 Lenny married Sophia Krawezak at St, Ignatius
Catholic Church, He sailed on the Great Lakes for many years, retiring in
1985, He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, a life member of
the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and a life member of the Posen
VFW Post 7804. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time
at his winter home in Florida,
He is survived by:
4 daughters, Carol (Fritz) Weber of Lachine,
Cathleen (Leonard) Pangonis of St. Clair Shores,
Marcia (Bob) Wodkowski of Presque Isle and
Lenore (Dan) Dietz of Alpena;
1 son, Jeffery (Brenda) Orban of Long Rapids;
10 grandchildren, Michael Wisniewski, Tamara Spomer, Tina Michulka,
John Wodkowski, Jess Wodkowski, Amanda Wodkowski,
Matthew Pangonis, Rachel Schoenberg, Becky Brege
and Sarah Frost;
13 great grandchildren;
2 sisters, Eleanor Buszka and Mayvine (Julian) Gorlewski; and
a sister-in-law, Theresa Orban.
Lenny was preceded in death by his wife, Sophia; and
2 brothers, Melvin and Lavern.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18th from
4-8 pm where the Knights of Columbus and Posen VFW will recite the
Rosary at 6:30 followed by the Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m.
Visitation will resume on Thursday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from
10 am until time Mass at llam with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.
Posen VFW Post 7804 will accord Military Honors during graveside
services at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery following Mass
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan, VFW Post 7804 or
to a charity of your choice.
