Leonard Schaedig

1929 - 2014

Leonard Otto Schaedig, age 84 of Rogers City,
passed away at Rogers City Tendercare on March 3, 2014.

He was born April 29, 1929 in Moltke Township
to August and Anna (Roeske) Schaedig.

Leonard served in the United States Army during the Korean War,
On September 24, 1955 he married Barbara Ganier at

Immanuel Lutheran Church, Len retired from Calcite in 1992,
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Mr. Schaedig is survived by:
his wife, Barbara;
3 children, Kimberly (Robin) Wing of Romeo,
Timothy (Carla) Schaedig of Marquette, and
Jeffery (Kris) Schaedig of Rochester;
7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Matyn, Gordon Wing, Marie Schaedig,
Megan (Andrew) Fortin, Paul Schaedig,
Andrew (Sasha) Schaedig, and Heidi (Jay) Dickinson;
6 great grandchildren, Alexandria, Cecelia, and Clara Matyn,
Isabel and Jakob Schaedig, and David Dickinson;
brother, Howard (Katie) Schaedig;
sister, Lillian (Wilbert) Keinath.

He was preceded in death by:
a sister, Marie Claus and 2 brothers, Erhardt and Elmer Schaedig.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00
until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will resume on Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church from
10:00 a.m, through time of service at 11:00 a.m. with
Pastor Derek Riddle officiating.

Rogers City VFW will offer a military tribute immediately following
church services.

Inurnment will take place at Peace Lutheran Cemetery at a later date,

Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church,
Hospice of the Sunrise Shore, or a charity of your choice.
