Leroy Archambeau
1936 - 2013Leroy Norton Archambeau, born December 29, 1936
in Cheboygan, Michigan has begun the next leg
of his great journey.
Leroy was a lover of nature and avid outdoorsman.
He spent his youth on Black Lake hunting, fishing, and working at his
family business, The Black Lake Hotel. Leroy was a proud veteran of
the United States Army, and often spoke fondly of peeling potatoes.
His prime years were spent working at Proctor and Gamble, and then at
Great Lakes Tissue, Retirement was not something that could ever slow
him down, and he spent many years tinkering, cutting, deconstructing,
and constructing once again. His sweet tooth was fierce and a bag of
bridge mix or fudge drumstick were never far from his grasp. He was
also well known for his amazing lemon filled chocolate cake that can
never be quite reproduced by anyone.
He was proceeded in death by;
his wife, Carol;
mother, Gladys;
father, Clarence;
siblings, Marie Mckee, Gladys, and Clarence Jr. and
son, Alan.
He is survived by:
his children; Dorothy (Mark Hornberger), Lee (Rebecca), Paul;
Siblings, Winifred Sova, John (Barb), Arthur (Kay);
Five grandchildren; Shawn Ostwald, Laurie(Kevin) Cook, Rory,
Mitchell and Tyler Goosen, and
great grandchildren, Kadin Cook, and Echo Mann.
Services to be held on Sunday, August 18 at
Black River Full Gospel Church, 4161 South Black River Road,
Cheboygan, at 2pm.
