1922 - 2010

Lois Janette Brege age 87 of Rogers City
passed away March 28, 2010 at
Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey

Lois was born July 16, 1922 in Alpena
to Arthur and Mary (Shaw) Aikens

On June 19, 1948 she married Enos Brege at St. John Lutheran Church in

Rogers City. Lois taught school for 2 years in a country school, then worked for
5% years at REA. Mrs. Brege retired in 1983 from the Michigan Department of
Social Services where she had worked for 18 years as a social worker. Lois was a
member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hagensville, the German-American Club,
Rogers City Servicemen’s Club, Golden Agers, and was a board member with the
Presque Isle County Council on Aging.

She is survived by:
4 children, Thomas (Michelle) Brege of Rogers City,
Lois (Jan) Smits of Traverse City, Edward (Patty) Brege of Rogers City,
and Carla Brege of Ypsilanti;
7 grandchildren, Michael (Betty Jo) Brege, Jan (Kathleen) Smits,
Matthew (Becky) Brege, Katie (Eric) Kasubowski, Kristi Bauer,
Casey (Fiancee’ Jennifer) Smits, and Adam Brege;
8 great grandchildren, Kyle, Ely, and Ava Brege, Elizabeth and Andrew Smits,
Ian and Brynn Kasubowski, and Jacob Brege;
1 sister, Verajean McLennan.

Mrs. Brege was preceded in death by:
her husband Enos on May 1, 1998;
infant daughter, Mary E. Brege;
parents, Mary and Arthur;

sister, Ruth;

brother, Cameron

Friends may visit the Beck Funcral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m, conducted by Pastor Harold G, Molzan.
Visitation will resume at St. John Lutheran Church in Hagensville on Thursday
from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Charles Schultz
officiating.

Interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church in Hagensville, Posen Senior
Center or R.C. Servicemen’s Club.
