Lorene Dittmar

1920 - 2018

Lorene A, Dittmar, age 98, of Millersburg,
passed away peacefully at Nash Manor on June 29, 2018,

She was born June 3, 1920 in Ocqueoc
to William and Martha (Sorgenfrei) Karsten.

Lorene graduated from Rogers City High School in 1938, Following
graduation, she moved to Detroit to join the workforce in support of
World War II. She returned home and married Allen R, Dittmar at
Immanuel Lutheran Church on June 26, 1942, Lorene enjoyed spending
time in her flower garden and raspberry patch, but most of all

she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and her “great-grands.”
She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church on Moltke.
She also served as Ocqueoc township clerk for many years. Lorene
volunteered for the American Cancer Society. Grammic-O was the
reigning Scrabble champion of the Dittmar Farm except maybe when
the “California Folks” came to visit.

She is survived by:
three children, Larry (Sheila Beam) Dittmar, Dean (Ann) Dittmar and
Colleen (Clyde) Berry;
9 grandchildren, Tim Dittmar, Sharon (Mitchell) Winfield,
Don (Heidi Witucki) Dittmar, Dawn (Kelsey) Schell,
Shelly Dittmar, Adam Berry,
Richard (Karen Weiss) Berry, Richelle (Mark) Baylis
and Michael (Jenna) Berry;
16 great grandchildren; and
her, sister, Delores (Richard) Bruning.

Lorene was preceded in death by:
her husband, Allen;
grandson, Jeff Dittmar;
sister, Elmira Piechan; and
two brothers, Wilfred Karsten, and William Karsten.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Monday, July 2nd from
4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will
resume on Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moltke Township
from 10:00 a.m. until time of her funeral at 11:00 a.m. with

Pastor Eric Voigt officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery,
