Lori Lynn Hilla, age 66, of Case Township, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on November 2, 2026.

  She was born in Port Huron to David and Constance (King) Storms on August 10, 1960.

  Lori dedicated nearly 45 years of her life to the nursing profession, spending the final 23 years of her career caring for patients and families as a hospice nurse (Hospice of the Sunrise Shore/McLaren).

  Lori never met a stranger. Her hugs were always free for anyone who needed one, and she had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. She had the gift of gab, and always had a funny story to share.

  In her free time, Lori enjoyed just about anything outdoors, whether kayaking, biking, horseback riding, or taking a ride on her Harley. She loved canning from her garden and giving away most of what she made. Her creativity was unmatched, and she found joy in painting and all arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed watching the goldfish and turtles grow in the pond she shared with her husband.

  Above all, Lori cherished her family. Affectionately known as “Grammy,” she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and loved ones. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love     she shared with them will live on forever.

  She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; two children, Lindsay and Jason (Diana); four grandchildren, Kaily, Autumn, Lilah, and Margaret; her father, David (Beth Getzinger) Storms; and her brother, Daniel (Rita Horn) Storms.

  Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Constance.

  Friends may visit at Beck Funeral Home on Saturday, November 7, from 2 p.m. until the time of her memorial service at 4 p.m.

  A luncheon will follow in the San Luis Rey Room at the funeral home.
