Marie Freel

Rose Marie Freel age 90 of Millersburg passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on January 5, 2023 at MyMichigan in Alpena.

She was born November 19, 1932 in Flint.

Marie was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. She married Joe Freel on April 15, 1950 in Flint. After Joe’s retirement, they moved to Millersburg. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking for friends and family. Marie was a beautician for many years and she was an avid bowler. She loved garage saling and most of all, spending time with her family.

Marie is survived by five children, Judy (Larry) Gramer of Byron, Joe (Kim) Freel of Fort Myers, FL, Glen (Kathy) Freel of Millersburg, Douglas (Jacqueline) Freel of Lansing, and Cynthia Freel of Columbia, TN; 11 grandchildren, Jason Gramer, Kevin (Marianne) Gramer, Holly (Sean) Stacey, Jennifer (Todd) Respecki, Stephanie (Joe) Hillebrand, Kimberly (Gregory) Hanlin, Michael (Crystal) Freel, Timothy (Nikki) Freel, Sarah (Andy) Bunch, Kendra Murdock and Kara (Hunter) Vann;
and 22 great grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe.

Friends may visit at the Ocqueoc Baptist Church on Monday, January 9th from 10:00 a.m. until time of her funeral at 12 noon with Pastor Bud Smith officiating.

Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Millersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Ocqueoc Baptist Church, St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Shriners Hospital.
