Marilyn McOsker

1931 - 2021

Marilyn Jean McOsker age 89 of Rogers Township passed away on March 28, 2021 at A & A Adult Living Center in Bloomfield Hills.

She was born August 6, 1931 in Detroit to Ross and Adrianna (deKam) Simpson. She was the only girl with three brothers, the late Ross, Ken and Bruce.

After graduating from Cooley High school Marilyn began a career at GM Tech Center as an operator. It was during this time George, working for Fisher body asked her out after only hearing her voice. George said after seeing her the first time he knew she was the girl for him, and for the next 60 years he continued to call her “My Girl.” Marilyn took great pride in her skills as a dressmaker and pattern drafter. To George’s pride she didn’t leave the house without looking a ten and never without her lipstick. Following their move to Rogers City, Marilyn and George joined civic organizations and the GM retirees’ group. Later, on her own she went to monthly lunches with the group from Beach Road.

Marilyn is remembered and deeply missed by the family she treasured. A daughter, Linda Fantin and son, Matthew. Her grandchildren, Eric (Lindsay) Fantin and Colleen (Nicholas) Sacco as well as many adored great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, April 1st from 5 p.m. through time of her funeral at 6:30 p.m. with Sr. Mary Michelz officiating.

Burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
