Mark Baller, Sr.
1942 - 2016Mark Eugene Baller Sr. age 73 of Rogers City 7
passed away at home on March 31, 2016.
He was born July 10, 1942 in Belknap Township
to William and Florence (Boyke) Baller,
Mark served in the United States Navy from 1960 through 1970. He was
aboard the USS Hornet during the Apollo 12 recovery mission, After
serving his country, Mark sailed with the Great Lakes Fleet and retired
in 1988 as a Boiler Technician, He also worked for the United States
Census Bureau as a Field Rep for 15 years. On May 27, 1967 Mark
married Gloria Curvin at Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a life
member of the Rogers City VFW Post 607.
Mr. Baller is survived by:
his wife, Gloria;
4 children, Colleen (Mark) Delekta of Posen,
Mark Baller Jr. of Rogers City,
Timothy (Kristel) Baller of Rogers City and
Kristina (Raymond) Krieger of Posen;
8 grandchildren, Nicholas (Tina) Delekta, Jacob (Sara) Delekta,
Emily (Johann Polanco) Delekta, Joshua Krieger,
Seth Krieger, Raiden Krieger, Tristan Baller and
Morgan Baller;
6 siblings, Captain William (Pat) Baller, Sandy Marshall,
Bonnie (Cash) Hincka, Sharon, Bernadine (Clarence) Hincka
and Wanda (John) Crooks;
he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence; and
a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Janet.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 until
8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at
St. Michael Lutheran Church in Belknap on Sunday from 1:00 p.m.
through time of funeral at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Keith Schneider
officiating. Rogers City VFW Post 607 will accord military honors at
the conclusion of the church services,
Inurnment will take place at the St. Michael Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Baller family
for a charity to be decided on at a later date.
