Martha Hendries

Martha A. Hendries, 90, of Presque Isle, passed away
peacefully, surrounded by family in the hospice
wing at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena on
Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017,

Martha was born on Jan. 10, 1927, in Detroit,
the daughter of Victor and Grace (Baker) Gornall.

Martha was a devoted wife and mother. She especially loved working in
her flower gardens, both indoors and out, and was happy to share her
plants with others. She also enjoyed quilting, square dancing, bowling
and various community activities. Mostly she cherished being around her
family and friends.

Martha was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Charles, who passed
away on Noy, 3, 2016.

She is survived by:
her children, Paul (Carol) Hendries, Caryn (Michael) Beeson,
Claudia Burns-Hendries, Cynthia (Osama) Judeh,
and Scott (Amy) Hendries;
brother, Joseph (Joyce) Gornall;
brother-in-law, Ronald Hendries of Costa Mesa, Calif.;
grandchildren, Jacqueline (Charles) Chretien, Kara Hendries,
Stephanie (David) Rossow, Kristin (Michael) Altz,
Kelsey and Cristina Burns, Chelsea (Mark) Dietrich,
Chadwick Kresky, lan Hendries,
Sarah (Andrew) Harrington, and Osama Jr. Judeh;
eight great-grandchildren, and
six nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, October 13 from 12 noon until service at 1 p.m.
with Reverends Dr. Greg and Karen Zurakowski officiating at the
Grand Lake Community Chapel in Presque Isle.

Interment will follow at the Presque Isle Township Cemetery.

Memorials/Donations: Hospice of Michigan, Meals on Wheels ~ Posen,
Presque Isle District Library, or Grand Lake Community Chapel.
