Mary Lou Tulgestke

Mary Lou Tulgestke age 78 of Rogers City passed away October 11, 2020 at Medilodge in Rogers City.

She was born December 25, 1941 in Belknap Township to Albert and Lucille (Sobczynski) Fuhrman.

On March 31, 1967 she married Luther “Loader” Tulgestke in Rogers City.

Mary Lou worked with her husband on the family farm and with the family logging business. Later, she worked as a cook at Kortman’s Restaurant and Stoney Creek Restaurant. She retired as a cashier from Glenn’s Super Market in 2007. Mary Lou enjoyed playing 3 to 13 (a card game), going to casinos, listening to her grandchildren and watching her soap operas.

She is survived by her son, Luther “Sonny” (Diane) Tulgestke Jr.; three grandchildren, Luke, Megan and Kaleb; one brother, David (Sam) Fuhrman; and three sisters, Cecilia Lijewski, Ann (Cash) Krajnik and Alice Fuhrman.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Luther; parents, Albert and Lucille Fuhrman; a sister,Janet Paulus; and a brother, William Fuhrman.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 13 th from 1 p.m. through time of her funeral at 3 p.m.

Interment will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to McLaren Hospice to benefit the Alpena/Rogers City Area or St. James Lutheran Church.
