Mason Shouder
1941 - 2017Mason Frederick Shouder, age 75, born
September 17th, 1941 in Niles, Michigan,
passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family
after a short battle with cancer on May 15th, 2017.
Anyone who knew Mason knew of his love of all things outdoors. Mason
worked as a Fisheries Biologist for the Department of Natural Resources
for 27 years, retiring in 1992, During the duration of his retirement,
Mason spent his time hunting and fishing, and was well-traveled, living
in Michigan, Florida, and Wyoming throughout the year.
Mason is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marjorie Shouder.
He is survived by:
his wife, Jean of Cheboygan,
daughters Tracy (Marty) Elliott of Gaylord, and
Kelly Thomas of Hubbard Lake;
grandchildren Mason and Riley Elliott of Gaylord, and
Molly and Jacob Thomas of Hubbard Lake;
brother David (Sue) of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin;
two nieces and one nephew.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the
Janice L. Fenske Memorial Award or the Dubois Wyoming Search
and Rescue.
