Michael Romel

Michael A. Romel age 60 of Posen
passed away July 1, 2011 at home

He was born May 1, 1951 in Rogers City
to Anthony and Elizabeth (Greengtski) Romel

On October 30, 1982 he married Barbara Remus at St. Peter Lutheran Church
in Metz. Mr. Romel was employed by Grand River Navigation and was a the
Chief Engineer on the M/V MANISTEE.

He is survived by:
wife, Barbara;
4 children, Franciska (Mark) Richardson of Fenton,
Gracinha (Daniel) O’Connor of Montgomery, Alabama,
Michael II of Posen, and Marie of Posen;
7 grandchildren, Ethan, Ainsley, Owen, and Ellis O’Connor, Jacob and
Joslyn Kuznicki, and Paige Richardson;
sister; Theresa (Jack) Samp of Alpena;
special neighbors, Stella and Harry Smigelski, and Sophie Zyraski.

Michael was preceded in death by:
his parents, Tony and Betty;
son-in-law, Patrick Kuznicki

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Visitation will resume on Monday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Metz, from
10:00 a.m. through time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Ryan officiating.

Interment will take place at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery

Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hospice of the Sunrise Shore,
or Great Lakes Lore Museum in memory of Michael Romel.
