Neil Hoeft

Neil William Hoeft age 69 of Rogers City passed
away June 29, 2008 at home.

He was born February 4, 1939 in Hillman
to Herman and Alma (Schaedig) Hoefti

Neil served in the United States Army from
1959 through 1962. On March 31, 1978 he
married Sylvia Jean Wenzel at St. John
Lutheran Church. Mr. Hoeft was a charter
member and served on the Building Committee
of Peace Lutheran Church where he was a
Member, Elder and Trustee. He owned and
operated Hoeft’s Motor Service in Rogers City
for more than 25 years. Neil was President of
Presque Isle County Farm Bureau for many
years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.

He is survived by:
wife, Jeannie
3 sons, Keith Hoeft of Texas,
Jim Hoeft of California, and
Dennis (Susan) Vanatta of Colorado
8 grandchildren, Kirstin,
Laura,
Kristine,
Sandra,
Matthew,
Cecilia,
Peter, and
Austin
1 brother, Roger (Joyce) Hoeft of Hawks
2 sisters, Lilah (Norman) Elowski of Rogers City and
Carol Hoeft of Petoskey

He was preceded in death by:
parents, Herman and Alma
daughter, Sheila Sorel
brother, Arden Hoeft

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2nd
from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m..
Visitation will resume at Peace Lutheran Church on Thursday from
10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with
Pastor Kevin Jones officiating.

Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church,
Hospice of the Sunrise Shore or theAlpena Cancer Center.
