Nicholas Michael Centala age 30 of Metz passed away February 7, 2026 while helping others.

He was born in Alpena to Paul and Lisa (Purol) Centala on September 17, 1995.

Nick graduated from Rogers City High School in 2014. He attended ACC for 1 year while working at ACE Hardware in Rogers City then on to working with Todd’s Plumbing and Heating. Nick was an all-around great guy who would help anyone who was in need. He enjoyed working at Wilk Farms and Kathy’s Catering.

He is survived by his mother, Lisa; sister, MaKayla (Alex) Pratt; grandmother, Kathy Purol; nephews, Asher, Austin, Ryder; nieces, Raelynn, Alivia and Rory; aunts and uncles, Jackie Kowalski, Michelle (Andy) Sullivan, Penny (Wayne) Seiler, Brenda (Tom) Kortman, Kevin (Stacy) Purol, David (Carrie) Purol, and Mark Purol; Godchild, Mya Purol; many cousins, extended family, friends and Jackie and Al Wilk.

Nick was preceded in death by his father, Paul; grandparents, Blanche (Florian) Centala and Arthur Purol; great grandparents, John (Theresa) Purol and Aloysius (Virginia) Nowicki; uncles, Michael Purol, Kenny Kowalski, and Toby Kowalski.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12th from 4-8 p.m. where his friends from the Amish Community will begin evening services with Hymns of Faith at 6 p.m. followed by his aunt leading the Rosary at 6:30 and concluding with Fr. Charlie conducting the Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Charlie Donajkowski officiating.

Interment will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Posen First Responders, Posen Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
