Norma Sanders

Norma Lea Sanders age 88 of Hammond Bay passed away February 26, 2022 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

She was born July 15, 1933 in Howe, Oklahoma to Aurther and Decima (Reynolds) Spacht.

On June 14, 1952 she married Robert Sanders at Wayne First Baptist Church. Norma enjoyed sewing, doll making, cake decorating, china painting, gardening, was a cat lover, and collected a variety of antiques. She was a long-time member of Rogers City Baptist Church and a former member of Ocqueoc Baptist Church and Wayne First Baptist Church.

Norma is survived by her husband, Robert; four children, Scott (Jackie) Sanders of Plymouth, Karen (Rick) Evans of Moreland, Georgia, Shelley (Mike) Giles of Ocqueoc and Melisa (Greg) Kuhn of Ocqueoc; eight grandchildren, Matt (Emily) Evans, Nick (Rachel) Evans, Kristen Evans, Marc Sanders, Michael Sanders, Wesley Kuhn, Dakota Kuhn and Palmer Kuhn; four great grandchildren, Sadie, Kennedy, Walter and Zebulon; a brother, Cleatus (Martha) Spacht of North Carolina; and a brother-in-law, James Horton of Maryland; and in-laws, Norman and Sharon Sanders of Harrison.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimily Sanders; her parents; her sister, Dickie Dean Horton; and a brother, Frank Spacht.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. through time of her funeral at 12-Noon with Pastor David Rogers officiating.

Burial will take place at Union-Udell Cemetery in Ypsilanti Township.
