Norman Karbon
1924 - 2012Norman Edward Karbon age 88 of Rogers City
passed away June 19, 2012 at Alpena Regional Medical Center
He was born January 21, 1924 in Detroit
to Erwin and Gertrude (Knebler) Karbon
Norm served in the United States Army during World War II. On May 8, 1948, he
married Shirley Jean Moreau in Dearborn. He worked for Montgomery Wards for
25 years then moved to Rogers City where he owned the Montgomery Ward Catalog
Agency before opening the Old Museum Art Supplies & Used Books.
Mr. Karbon is survived by:
his wife, Shirley;
6 children, Cheryl (Joseph) Hall of Brighton,
Mark (Lynne) Karbon of Glendale, California,
Claudia (Robert) Beals of Farmington,
Paul (Kelly) Karbon of Scottsdale, Arizona,
Kurt Karbon of Commerce Township, and
Rick Karbon of Chandler, Arizona;
10 grandchildren;
4 great grandchildren;
brother, Herman (Betty) Karbon and
sister, Joan Czich.
No public services are planned. Military Honors and Inurnment will take place at
Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Huron Shores Humanities Council,
(Karbon/Asikainen Youth Education in the Arts and Humanities Scholarship Fund)
