Patricia Corkwell

Patricia Joyce “Patty” Corkwell age 76 of Cheboygan passed away at home on September 12, 2026.

She was born in Grand Rapids on November 25, 1949 to Clare and Genevieve (Troje) Miller.

Her family moved to Lorain, Ohio just after she was born, then in 1960 the Miller family moved to Newport, Michigan. Patty graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing but considered Barlow Lake in Middleville her home. She married William Hammond in 1967, they had two sons, Kevin (Patty) Hammond and Corey (Mindi) Hammond. She was remarried in 1986 to Robert Corkwell who has three sons, Robert (Tammy) Corkwell, Brent (Samantha Odell) Corkwell and Chad (Nikki) Corkwell; and one daughter, Kristine McDermott; Patty is also survived by 15 grandkids and four great grandchildren. Patty worked at various nursing facilities until she hired in at EW Bliss Company in Hastings, retiring in 2002. Following retirement, she and Bob moved to Drummond Island for eight years before settling down in Cheboygan.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and Genevieve and a brother, Wayne “Butch” Miller.
