Patricia Thornton

Patricia Dawn Thornton age 83 of Cheboygan passed away August 27, 2026.

She was born July 5, 1943 in Garden City to Harold and Anita (Murray) Hershey.

Patricia was a “Super Mom”. She made the best No Bake Cookies, delicious Wonder Bread sandwiches (with butter) and she created the most beautiful wedding dresses for her family and friends. The best part of life on earth for her was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, John (Carlene) Brown, Anita (Ken) Ginop, Kathy (Ron) Hauser and Judy (Mike) Bisanz; two stepsons, Doug (Jill) Thornton and Dan Thornton; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Patricia; husband, Virgil; two brothers, William and Harold and a her sister, Barbara Compton.

Friends may visit at Northshore Community Church, 617 Palmyra Street in Cheboygan on Thursday, September 3rd from 5:30 through time of her celebration of life at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Mallory officiating. Desserts and refreshments will follow.

Inurnment will take place at Oakhill Cemetery at a later date.
