Phyliss Syrett
1923 - 2015Phyllis June Syrett age 91 of Rogers City
passed away February 25, 2015
at her son’s home in Gaylord.
She was born May 26, 1923 in Alpena
to Louis and Ruth (Pake) Selke.
On August 16, 1942 she married Lawrence Syrett in Alpena, Phyllis was a
member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was an enthusiastic
supporter of the Rogers City High School Sports Boosters. Mrs. Syrett
enjoyed square dancing, cross country skiing and watching sunsets at
Sea Gull Point.
Phyllis is survived by:
her husband, Lawrence;
2 sons, Donn (Pamela) of Gaylord and Terry (Sharon) of Harrisville;
3 grandchildren, Melissa Cousineau, Heather Syrett and Eric Auensen;
2 great grandchildren, Alaini Cousineau and Alex Varty;
1 brother, KayDon (Audrey) Selke;
2 sisters, Urlene Cousineau and Donna (Dick) Peacock.
She was preceded in death by:
her parents, Louis and Ruth;
2 brothers, Lathan and Douglas Selke;
1 sister, Vera Jean Yerks.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 until
5:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday at Westminster Presbyterian
Church from 10:00 a.m. through time of funeral at 11:00 a.m, with
Rev. Dr. Robert Case officiating.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum
in memory of Phyllis Syrett
