Ralph Taylor

1924 - 2016

Ralph Sidney Taylor age 92 of Rogers City
passed away May 25, 2016.

He was born January 27, 1924 in Hagensville
to Sidney and Elva (Heslip) Taylor.

Ralph graduated from Rogers City High School then went on and served
as a Coxswain in the United States Navy during World War II from
November 1944 ~ July of 1946. He was awarded the American Campaign
Medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. He was proud to be
known as a “Seabee”. On September 25, 1948 he married Evelyn Yarch.
Ralph was employed as a bulldozer and crane operator at the US Steel,
Calcite Plant until his retirement in 1987, He enjoyed traveling, taking
walks and tending to his garden.

Mr. Taylor is survived by:
his children, Susan (Larry) Schaedig of Gaylord,
Patricia (James) Young of Avon Lake, Ohio,
Carolyn (George) Rowader of Grass Lake,
Sandra (Kerry) Kuznicki of Rogers City,
Gerald (Beth) of Tigard, Oregon and
Michael (Debbic) of Issaquah, Washington;
12 grandchildren;
4 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Derek and Anna;
1 sister, Kathryn Berg;
1 brother, Robert; and
a sister-in-law, Connie Taylor.
Ralph is also survived by his dear companion and friend, Patricia Bruning.

He was preceded in death by
his wife, Evelyn in 2010;
2 brothers, Leslie and Bruce,

Friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 31st
from 10:00 a.m, until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m, with
Fr, Sylvestre Obwaka officiating.

Rogers City VFW Post 607 will offer a military tribute during graveside
services at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery immediately following Mass,

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the
Rogers City Area Senior Center in memory of Ralph Taylor.
