1925 - 2024

Raymond Leonard Orban age 98 of Grand Lake passed away at home on May 7, 2024.

He was born in Alpena to Stephen and Frances (Roznowski) Urban on December 1, 1925.

Ray Enjoyed everything outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating, farming, spending time in the woods, coaching baseball, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by five sons, Kenneth Orban of Grand Lake, Ralph Orban of Metz, Chris (Rosanne) Orban of Alpena, Glenn (Amy) Orban of Lyons and Jason (Barb) Orban of Boyne City; 24 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren, four sisters, Esther Kelley, Lucy Kelley, Margie Grulke and Mary Ann Plume; and four brothers, Louis (Marian) Urban, Alphonse (Lorraine) Orban, Stephen (Georgene) Urban Jr. and Ronald (Marcia) Urban.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores; four siblings, Julia Honaway, Florian Urban, Lillian Dehring and Susan Furtaw; and two daughters-in-law, Mary Orban and Kathy Orban.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15th from 4-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 6:30 followed by the parish wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Charlie Donajkowski officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
