Regina Purgiel
1918 - 2014Regina Purgiel age 97 of Posen,
passed away December 29, 2014 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 13, 1918 in Posen
to Leo and Anastasia (Smolinski) Bronikowski.
On August 27, 1938 she married Stanley Purgiel at St. Casimir Catholic
Church, Together they raised 5 children, Regina was a loving
Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother,
Mrs. Purgiel was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, their Rosary
Sodality and the Posen VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Regina is survived by:
3 daughters, Doris Kowalski, Janet (Tom) Modahl, and
Diane (Bill Kerry) Purgiel;
1 son, Norman Purgiel;
8 grandchildren, Linda (Charlie) Chojnacki, Debra (Robert) St. Clair,
Karen (Andy) Kowalski, Kris (Jason) Chalupniczak,
Lori (Steve) Redes, Jerome Kowalski,
Eric (Kristy) Nelson, and Julie (Miles) Cross;
17 great grandchildren, Krystle Styma, Matthew (Michelle) Styma,
Whitney (Grant) Meeder,
Chelsea (Brandan) Meeder, Anna St. Clair,
Ethan St. Clair, Austin Redes, Brooke Redes,
Brendan Chalupniczak, Peyton Chalupniczak,
Mercedes Kowalski, Elizabeth Kowalski,
Noah Kowalski, Avery Nelson, Nina Cross,
Graham Cross, Max Cross;
2 great-great grandsons, Harvey Calliway, and Hayden McConnell.
She was preceded in death by:
her husband, Stanley;
2 sons, James and John;
4 brothers, Joseph, Martin, Steve, and John Bronikowski;
6 sisters, Elizabeth Lewandowski, Mary Kelly, Rose Bronikowski,
Victoria Bronikowski, Martha Bronikowski, and Frances Hall.
Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Wednesday,
December 31st from 10:00 a.m, through time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.
Interment will take place in St, Casimir Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Regina Purgiel
to St. Casimir Church or Hospice of Michigan,
