Richard Krali Sr. passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was 93.

He was born in Frankenmuth on April 10, 1931.  He left home at 17 with a childhood friend to join the US Navy where he served four years active duty during the Korean War. Upon his return home, he met and married Margaret McMurtrie on October 2, 1954 and made his home in St. Clair Shores. There he worked in the auto industry as a Tool and Die electrician, retiring from Chrysler after 30+ years of service. After years of vacationing in northern Michigan, Richard and Margaret retired to their Huron Beach cottage in 1990.

He enjoyed annual vacations to Higgins Lake, where the family had fun swimming, fishing and boating, riding boogie boards, and hunting for huckleberries. Richard also enjoyed annual hunting trips to Huron Beach and eventually purchased a cottage in the area where the family continued to make many wonderful memories.

Richard was a passionate Detroit sports fan and enjoyed cheering them on with his family. He was most passionate about hockey, teaching his sons, and coaching children of all ages, and refereeing at the Gordie Howe Hockeyland in SCS.

Upon retirement Richard loved watching and feeding the wildlife outside his home, often naming the animals that visited regularly.  He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and playing pool on a local league in Millersburg, or just hanging out with family and  friends.

He was a proud US Navy veteran and remained active in his local VFW  and American Legion, both In St. Clair Shores and Millersburg.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Krali in November 2015.
