Richard Wozniak

Richard Francis Wozniak age 81 of Rogers City passed away unexpectedly at home on June 15, 2026.

He was born September 3, 1944 in Alpena to Casimir and Helen (Woloszyk) Wozniak.

Rich graduated from Posen High School in 1962. He served in the United States Army from 1962 through 1966. He earned his bachelors degree in accounting from Eastern Michigan University in 1969. On June 13, 1969 he married Mary Sue Klimek in the chapel at Eastern Michigan University. Rich retired in the year 2000 from Prudential Financial after 31 years of service. He served on the St. Ignatius finance council for 25 years. Rich was on the Rogers City Country Club board of directors for 38 years and was their business manager for 21 years. He was a member of the Rogers City Serviceman’s Club and an active member of the Rogers City Optimist Club. In his younger years, he spent weekends helping his parents on their farm.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Sue; two daughters, Melissa (Mark) Azeez and Amy (Scott) Stone; four grandchildren, Holly Azeez, Ethan Azeez, Randi Stone and Rylee Stone; three siblings, David (Joanne) Wozniak, Michael (Debbie) Wozniak and Paulette (RJ) Bordeau; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Wozniak.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Casimir and Helen and a brother, Patrick.

Friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Friday, June 19th from 9 a.m. through time of his memorial Mass at 10 a.m. with Fr. Don Geyman officiating.

Rogers City VFW Post 607 will offer a military tribute at church immediately following Mass.

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Ignatius Catholic School or to a charity of your choice.
