Robert “Bob” Steinke

Robert Edwin “Bob” Steinke age 71 of Royston passed away at home on April 29, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 24, 1949 in Monroe to Edwin and Phyllis (Nelson) Steinke.

Bob retired from Wayne Wire in February after 51 years of employment. He and Evelyn owned and ran the Royston Store for the past 43 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at camp.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn; three sons, Christopher (Danielle), Darwin (Stephanie) and James (Stephanie); nine grandchildren, Ethan, Shayley (Logan), Gavin, Douglas (Charlotte), Alicia, Michael, Elizabeth, Brandon and Isabella; great grandson, Rylan; sister, Joyce Cordes; and a brother, Gary Steinke.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Phyllis; a sister, Lisa Ferguson; and a brother-in-law, Duane Cordes.

Friends may visit at St. John Lutheran Church in Royston on Sunday, May 2^nd from 3-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of his funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason Mandley officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan in memory of Robert Steinke.
