Robert Davis
1949 - 2022Bob Davis of Indian River, MI passed away on Sunday May 8, 2022 after battling a terminal illness. He was 72 years old.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jan Davis, and two daughters, Niki Chamberlain and Taryn Davis-Hanson. He is also survived by his two son-in-laws, Warren Chamberlain and Leif Hanson as well as four grandchildren, Zoey, Amelie, Presley and Ender and especially his two dogs, Buddy and Koko.
Bob was born in Indian River, MI but grew up in Columbus Grove, OH with his mom and dad, Eloyse and Charles Davis. He also has two sisters, Charlene Parys and Barb Altstaetter. He moved to Indian River permanently in 1988 and started Modoc Log Furniture Company and later Modoc General Contracting. With his wife he built one of the first log homes on the Indian River in partnership with Indian River Custom Log Homes, and he later went on to build log homes, furniture and railings for the next 30 years. Bob also operated a Christmas wreath making business for the last 40 years after taking it over from his grandmother, Lelah Davis. This has been a family business for nearly 75 years. He loved the outdoors and sports, including; hunting, fishing, golfing and boating. They were among his favorite pastimes. He was also known to attend nearly all of his grandchildren’s sports activities, performances and events. Bob was above all a family man. He loved sitting on his dock, watching the boats go by and watching his dogs and grandkids swim in the river. He was a husband to Jan for nearly 48 years, a wonderful father, caring grandfather, and friend to so many. His spirit will forever be held in the night sky. Bob cared for his dog Koko who endured a spinal cord injury and was paralyzed for the last two years. She was rehomed at LETS Rescue- Loving Eyes Trusting Souls Rescue in Howell, MI when he became too ill to care for her. She has received wonderful care there.

Bob has chosen to be cremated and a celebration of life and luncheon will be planned for Friday May 13th at 12pm at the Chateau at Black Mountain in Cheboygan.
